Compatibility

Compatible devices

Every platform installs applications in its own way, so each one has its own guide. Find yours below, or send us the make and model if you are not sure.

Supported platforms

Any device that can run a compatible IPTV player and reach the internet is a candidate. These are the families we support guides for.

Smart TVs

Samsung, LG and other connected televisions

Most connected televisions can run an IPTV player straight from their own app store, with no extra hardware at all. Which players are listed depends on the manufacturer, the operating system and how old the set is.

Amazon Fire TV & Firestick

Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV built-in

A Fire TV stick is the most common way to add streaming to a television that cannot do it alone. It plugs into an HDMI port, runs on its own remote and handles IPTV players comfortably.

Android TV & Google TV

Android TV boxes, Google TV sticks and built-in Android televisions

Android TV and Google TV give you the widest choice of IPTV players of any television platform, because almost every player is built for Android first.

Apple TV

Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K

Apple TV is a straightforward platform for IPTV: everything is installed from the tvOS App Store, there is nothing to sideload, and playback is consistent.

Android phones & tablets

Phones and tablets running Android

A phone or tablet is the easiest way to test a new subscription, because you can set it up in a couple of minutes and confirm everything works before touching the television.

iPhone & iPad

iOS and iPadOS devices

iPhone and iPad work in much the same way as Apple TV: the player comes from the App Store and setup is a single screen.

Windows & Mac computers

Desktop and laptop computers

A computer is a useful second screen and an excellent way to check whether a problem lies with your television or with the connection itself.

What “compatible” actually means

A subscription is not an app. It is a set of account details that you enter into a player application, and the player is what has to be compatible with your device. That is why the first question we ask is which device you intend to watch on: the answer decides which player you install and how you install it.

We do not publish a proprietary Reflexsat IPTV application, and we would rather tell you that plainly than imply otherwise. The players we point you to are made by other developers, several of them are excellent, and some of them charge their own small fee. Any such charge belongs to that developer and is separate from your subscription.

When your television is too old

Sets more than a few years old sometimes have no suitable player left in their store, and that is not something any subscription can fix. The practical answer is a streaming stick or small box plugged into a spare HDMI port. It costs very little, it is faster than the television’s own software, and the television keeps working exactly as it does now.

Guides

Step-by-step installation

Smart TVs

Samsung sets use the Samsung App Store, LG sets use the LG Content Store, and other manufacturers use their own equivalent. Tell us the make, model and year of your television and we will confirm which player to install before you order.

Amazon Fire TV & Firestick

Some players are listed in the Amazon Appstore and install in one step. Others are installed using Amazon’s own sideloading route, which the device supports but switches off by default.

Android TV & Google TV

Most suitable players are in Google Play on the device itself. Where one is not, Android TV supports installing applications from a file, which is the route we will walk you through.

Apple TV

Players must come from the tvOS App Store, so the choice is smaller than on Android. Some of them are paid applications; that charge belongs to the developer and is separate from your subscription.

Android phones & tablets

Players are installed from Google Play in the normal way.

iPhone & iPad

Players come from the iOS App Store. As on Apple TV, some are paid applications sold by their own developers.

Windows & Mac computers

Desktop IPTV players exist for both Windows and macOS, and general-purpose media players that accept a playlist will also work.
